“Ravenna, widely known all over the world for its splendid paleochristian and byzantine monuments, set out to also be identified as the city that is\u00a0 \u201cfriends with women\u201d. Thanks to a collaboration between Linea Rosa (Center which sustains women against violence), CIDM (International Centre for the Documentation of Mosaics) and CNA (Italian National Craft Trades Confederation), the project is born to shine a light on gender-based violence. Unique pieces of art utilize the message of each flower represented in mosaics to conjugate beauty, art and solidarity.<\/span><\/p>\n

Since it was presented in 2013, \u201cFLOWERS OF RAVENNA \u2013 THE WOMEN FRIENDLY CITY PROJECT\u201d has been involving every mosaic master in Ravenna into the realization of a tangible symbol that shows the consideration of the city for the women in need\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n
